The App does not require you to create an account or sign in. The main information the App handles is as follows.
Drink names, ratings, tasting notes, notes, dates, places, how you had it, who you drank with, stories you heard at a bar, your wishlist, your profile name, and similar entries are stored only on your device. They are never sent to a server run by the developer or anyone else. The only exception is the paid “AI Bartender”: when you use an AI feature after agreeing to it, part of this information needed to create the answer is sent (see 4. AI Bartender).
Photos you take with the camera, choose from your photo library, or paste are stored only on your device. Background removal and label text recognition are also done entirely on your device and are not sent anywhere. The only exception is when AI Bartender’s AI camera identifies a drink, in which case the photo you took is sent (see 4. AI Bartender). Camera and photo access is used only when you take or choose a photo for an entry.
Only when you tap “Nearby places” while logging a place, your current location is used to find nearby bars and restaurants. The search is done with Apple’s map service (MapKit), and your current location and search words are sent to Apple. The developer never collects or stores your location.
Only if you allow it through iOS App Tracking Transparency, the advertising identifier is used by the ad SDK (Google AdMob) to serve ads. If you don’t allow it, every feature of the App still works normally.
To improve the App, we use Google’s Firebase Analytics to measure how often features are used (for example, how many entries were logged, wishlist additions, whether the tutorial was completed, whether a purchase was completed, and whether AI Bartender features were used). What is sent is the type of action and small numbers, an app-specific identifier for your device, your device model, your approximate region, and similar data. The contents of your entries, such as drink names, notes, photos, and who you drank with, are never sent. Google handles this data under Google’s privacy policy.
In-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store payment system. The developer never receives or stores payment details such as credit card numbers. If you use AI Bartender, the purchase record issued by the App Store (such as the transaction ID) is sent to the developer’s server to confirm your membership and count your uses. It does not include your name, email address, or Apple Account.
To cover running costs, the App uses Google AdMob, provided by Google. AdMob may use your device’s advertising identifier, approximate region, and similar information to serve ads and measure their performance.
The App shows the following ads. Every ad is labeled as an ad.
| Type | Where it appears |
|---|---|
| Native ads | Within your collection list and within the Review screen |
| Rewarded ads (video) | Played only when you tap “Watch an ad to use all wallpapers for 24 hours” yourself |
For how AdMob handles data, see Google’s privacy policy.
The App offers the following in-app purchases.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| No Ads + All Wallpapers | Removes the ads in your collection list and Review, and unlocks every background wallpaper (one-time purchase; rewarded ads are excluded because you choose to play them; you can also try the wallpapers for 24 hours by watching an ad) |
| AI Bartender (monthly / yearly) | Lets you use AI notes, recommendations, the AI camera, and more, up to a set number of times each month (auto-renewing subscription). Members can also use No Ads + All Wallpapers. If you have ever subscribed monthly or yearly, you can keep using No Ads + All Wallpapers even after you cancel |
| AI Bartender trial | Lets you try AI Bartender up to 10 times (one-time purchase, no expiration, does not auto-renew) |
| Buy the developer a drink | A tip to support the developer. It does not change any features |
Purchases are processed through Apple’s StoreKit, and purchase history and refunds follow Apple’s policies. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. After switching devices or reinstalling, tap “Restore purchases” on My Page to restore your purchases.
Answers from the paid “AI Bartender” are created by Claude, an AI provided by Anthropic (USA). Before you use AI Bartender for the first time, the App tells you what will be sent and where, and only if you agree, the following information is sent to Anthropic through the developer’s server (running on Cloudflare’s services), only when you use an AI feature. This includes when you take a photo with the AI camera (if the label can’t be read, the bottle is identified automatically) and when your monthly Review “title” arrives at the end of the month.
| Information sent | Used for |
|---|---|
| Brand names, genres, and origins of drinks | Notes, food pairings, recommendations, and so on |
| From your entries: ratings, tasting notes, and how you had it | To tailor notes and recommendations to your taste |
| Names of drinks you’ve logged and drinks on your wishlist | When picking recommendations (so the same drinks aren’t suggested) |
| That month’s number of drinks, kinds of places (home, bar, etc.), number of people you drank with, and the share of drinks on weekends and late at night | Your monthly Review “title” |
| Photos you take | When the AI camera identifies a drink |
| Words you searched by name, and dish names you entered | When looking up a drink that isn’t in the drink library, and when picking drinks to go with a dish |
Names of people you drank with, place names, notes, location, and your name or email address are never sent.
The App does not send the contents of your entries anywhere. It does connect to the network in the following cases.
In the Japanese App Store version only, “Buy this drink” on a drink’s detail screen opens search results on Rakuten Ichiba or Amazon.co.jp. These links include referral codes for the Rakuten Affiliate and Amazon Associates programs, and the developer may earn a referral fee if a product is purchased through them. As an Amazon Associate, the App earns from qualifying purchases. These links are not shown outside Japan.
“Search online” on the photo screen opens Google Image Search in your browser. Information on linked sites is handled under each company’s privacy policy.
Your entries and photos are stored only in iOS local storage on your device (for information stored on the developer’s server for AI Bartender, see “4. AI Bartender”). The App does not offer backups to an external server, so deleting the App deletes your entries and photos. Before switching devices, please use an iPhone backup.
You can export your entries as a CSV file with “Export entries” on My Page. You choose where the exported file is saved or shared.
Except for Google AdMob (ads), Google Firebase Analytics (usage measurement), Apple’s StoreKit (purchases) and MapKit (place search), GitHub (drink library delivery), and Anthropic and Cloudflare (AI Bartender) as described above, the App never provides or sells collected information to third parties.
The App is for logging alcoholic drinks. You must be of legal drinking age in your country or region to use it (20 or older in Japan). The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may change without notice due to changes in law or new features in the App. If there is an important change, we will announce it on this page.
